ABOUT
The Sovereign Press publishes serious Caribbean work — scholarship, strategy, and literary nonfiction written from the region to the standard of the world.
It was founded in Georgetown, Guyana, on a simple premise: that the Caribbean’s ideas should be set down, edited, and bound under their own authority rather than waiting on someone else’s. Sui iuris — under one’s own law.
The Press publishes in three registers. Trade nonfiction for the general reader. Practical field guides for people doing the work. And instruments — diagnostics and toolkits — for institutions.
Books are typeset in EB Garamond, printed by Bookvault, and distributed worldwide in print and digital editions. Every title carries an ISBN from the Press’s own CARICOM block and is deposited with the National Library of Guyana.
